How long does my first appointment take?

Typically your first adjustment is around 45 minutes long, and this appointment is all about you. We will gather, through a consultation and examination, the proper and relevant information about your history, how you are currently responding stress, what your goals are for care, and what you want to achieve with your health.

We like to gather data that gives us a big picture view of your health. We look at HRV, Oximetry, Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Spinal Movement, Muscle Testing,  and X-ray (if necessary),  These tests give us information on what your adaptability, balance, and vitality look like.

This appointment becomes the basis for designing a care plan that is specific to your needs and goals.

Will I be adjusted on the first visit?

The short answer is it depends. Most often, the doctor will need some time to review the data we collected, and triangulate that with your goals for care.  We will create a plan of care that may include adjustments, rehabilitation, and nutritional counselling.

Our philosophy is pretty simple – we want to get it right for you the first time. In order to do this, we need some time to look over your case, think about what is best for you, and design it.

What is an adjustment?

A chiropractic adjustment is a precise movement that help your spinal column realign, have more movement, and relaxes the stress response in the body.

An adjustment is a micro movement to the spine.  The goal of the adjustment is to restore range of motion, flexibility, and proper structural integrity to the spinal column, and its associated muscles.

An adjustment can be done manually (with hands) or with an instrument.  We will, together with you, decide what type of adjustment best suits your needs.

How much does an adjustment cost?

Our drop in adjustment rate is $79 per visit. We are also happy to create a care plan for you that can significantly decrease the cost well below the flat rate. Once we understand your needs, we will present some options for you that fits your needs and budget.

Does being adjusted hurt?

Quite the contrary.  Being adjusted usually is a relief, especially if you have not been moving well for a long time.

Most people immediately feel more relaxed, and have better movement immediately following an adjustment.

We use a variety of techniques in the office: Instruments, tables that move, and our gentle hands.

Most of the time, after your first adjustment, you are going to sleep like a baby. Most of our patients report having one of the deepest, restful sleep they have had in years. It is like the reset button on your computer.

I tried Chiropractic before and it didn’t work, I’m hesitant to try it again.

When we hear this, it usually falls into 1 of 2 buckets:

1. The care you received was not addressing the core issue that was causing the problem

OR

2. You were not under care long enough to fix the issue.

Most often, it is actually both of these things. Sometimes it can be simply the fit between the doctor and the patient was not right.

We pride ourselves on getting it right the first time – which is why we do testing that will show us, what is going on in your nervous system, your bones, and your muscles.  We will design a plan on how to get rid of the pattern you have been stuck in, and take a long term view to give you the skills to be able to prevent it from happening in the future.

Do I have to go a chiropractor forever once I start?

No.  There is no lifetime contract. You are in control of your care, and decide when it starts and when it stops.  We are here to serve you.

You should consider Chiropractic care for as long as you wish to function at your best: physically, mentally and socially.

Do you accept my employee insurance?

We do not have direct billing for employee benefits. We do, however, provide you with a receipt detailing the treatment and cost breakdown for your insurance provider.

Is chiropractic for just neck and back pain?

Chiropractic is great for getting rid of pain, but we are just getting started at that point!

Getting you out of pain is pretty easy and usually does not take long – it is simply getting your body out of defence physiology.

Once we accomplish that, we can take a long term view to keep chronic, low grade, and acute inflammation at bay.

Is chiropractic safe for kids?

Absolutely.

Children, especially in the first 2 years of life, undergo incredible neuromotor transformation.

Supportive chiropractic care ensures the developing nervous, skeletal, and muscles systems stays healthy as they grow.  The birth process, bumps on the head, falls trying to walk and run are common and can interfere with developmental process.

Chiropractic for children is gentle, safe, and effective.

How early can I bring in my child to see the doctor?

Dr. Stephanie adjusted her 2 babies within the hour after giving birth to them. So, our official recommendation is as soon as possible. We love crying babies, hungry babies, babies that need a diaper change, sleepy babies, the lot…so just come on over.
